PEBAM BOTOX Days ARTEfill clenziderm

Minimally Invasive Plastic Surgery Procedures

Go to Surgical Procedures

ArteFill®

The first and only FDA-approved permanent wrinkle filler. Facial wrinkles are a result of the natural aging process. Over time, the skin loses its ability to repair itself as the underlying elastin and collagen fibers break down and lose elasticity. Heredity, UV exposure, and repetitive facial movement can all contribute to the development of facial wrinkles and folds. Finally, there's a simple, in-office procedure that answers the demand for immediate, enduring wrinkle correction.

BOTOX®

BOTOX®, the trade name for Botulinum Toxin Type A, safely provides temporary reduction of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. A few tiny injections and a few days can make a noticeable difference, and the results last as long as four months. BOTOX injections can be administered to men and women from age 18 to 65 with excellent results. The minimally invasive procedure involves injecting the purified protein into the muscles that cause frown lines between the eyebrows.

The procedure takes only 10 minutes and requires no anesthesia. There is only minimal discomfort, and patients can resume normal activities immediately afterward. Results will become apparent within a few days following the procedure. After approximately four months, a follow-up treatment may be in order. Without follow-up treatments, the lines between the brows will resume their pre-treatment appearance.

Chemical Peel

Chemical peel was the second most popular minimally invasive cosmetic procedure in 2004, with 1.1 million procedures performed. Essentially, the procedure involves applying a chemical solution to remove damaged outer layers of skin, leaving it smoother and more vibrant. It is appropriate for people with facial blemishes, wrinkles and uneven skin coloring. Chemical peel can be used in conjunction with a facelift, but it is not always necessary to combine the procedures.

Although chemical peel is generally considered a cosmetic treatment, it can be used to remove pre-cancerous skin, soften acne scars, and - in some cases - control acne. The chemical formula can be adjusted to each patient's needs. In the case of certain peels, the new skin can no longer tan and must always be protected from the sun. This consideration and others will be addressed by the plastic surgeon during consultation.

Chemical Face Peels

A fast, safe and wonderful way to quickly rejuvenate your face. A natural chemical solution is applied to the face gently removing the damaged outer layers of skin. Chemical peels help to remove blemishes, fine wrinkles, and uneven skin coloring. This treatment will help to rejuvenate your skin and make your face feel great.

Collagen Injections

Collagen injections, approved by the FDA in 1981, are effective for the temporary reduction of fine lines (including "crow's feet"), wrinkles, and some shallow scars. Injectable collagen, a natural substance derived from purified cow collagen, replaces the natural collagen that disappears with age. Other uses for collagen include minimizing deeper facial creases and enhancing lip fullness.

Injections are made with tiny needles into pre-selected skin depressions, and several injections might be needed, depending on the length and depth of the wrinkle or crease. Collagen injections yield immediate results with no need to harvest tissue from another part of the body. Patients can resume normal activities immediately.

Dermabrasion

Through a procedure of controlled surgical scraping, a plastic surgeon can smooth out the skin's top layers marred by accidents or previous surgery, minimize fine lines around the mouth or other areas of the face, and remove pre-cancerous growths (keratoses). Dermabrasion can be used alone or in conjunction with a facelift, scar removal or chemical peel.

Dermabrasion candidates are those of all ages who approach the procedure realistically, as it does not remove all scars or flaws. Skin type, coloring, and medical history play an important role in deciding if dermabrasion is appropriate. The skin of non-white people may become permanently discolored or blotchy. People with active acne encounter higher risk, as well as those who have had radiation treatments, a severe skin burn, or a previous chemical peel.

IPL stands for Intense Pulse Light. This virtually painless procedure can be performed during your lunch break with no downtime. This innovative technology is used in the treatment of photoaged skin, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, age spots (sun-induced freckles), brown and red pigments caused by damaged skin. The light energy absorbed in the subepidermal tissue will stimulate the production of collagen improving the tone and elasticity your skin. It is a true anti-aging therapy. We recommend 4-6 treatments performed in 3 week intervals for optimal effect.

Alternating your IPL treatment with MICRODERMABRASION is highly recommended yielding amazing rejuvenating results. Our expert staff is often asked to provide training to other Doctors and Cosmetic practices in the use of Intense pulsed light.

Micro Laser Peel

Radiesse Injections

Radiesse, the newest cosmetic injectable approved by the FDA, enhances lip fullness and minimizes fine lines (smile lines) and wrinkles, generally in the lower face. Unlike other injectables, Radiesse will last approximately 3 to 7 years, far greater than collagen. Because it contains no animal particles, the patient does not have to take allergy tests prior to injections. The liquid filler is made from a component found in bone and teeth and often used in dental, facial, and orthopedic surgery.

The area to be injected is first numbed; Radiesse injections are more painful than collagen. Small amounts are injected under the skin, filling the folds and lines and giving a more youthful appearance that is immediately visible. Radiance may also be used to increase lip fullness.

Rosacea treatment

IPL therapy is highly effective in the treatment of Rosacea. Rosacea is a disorder caused by damaged facial blood vessels. It causes embarrassing and unsightly facial redness and inflammation in the area of the cheeks, nose, forehead and chin. Rosacea can be inherited or triggered by age, alcohol, heat, caffeine, medication, or sun exposure.

Spider Vein Therapy [Sclerotherapy]

Spider veins are super-fine veins that lie just beneath the surface of the skin, that develop through heredity, pregnancy, weight gain, or occupations and activities that require prolonged sitting or standing, and the use of certain medications. Spider veins come in one of three patterns: spider-like, tiny branch-like or linear. Although small, they can connect into clusters of red, blue or purple veins in the thigh, calf or ankle areas.

Spider veins, which plague millions of women, produce few medical problems, but can cause such symptoms as aching, burning, swelling and night cramps. Women 30 to 60 years of age typically undergo spider vein therapy, because the problem does not become apparent until mid-life. Through sclerotherapy, plastic surgeons inject the veins with a solution that causes them to collapse and fade away, returning the area to a more youthful appearance.

Restylane

Due to the rising demand for more youthful facial features, products such as Restylane have been developed to restore volume and fullness to the skin. As the first and only cosmetic dermal filler made of a non-animal-based substance, Restylane is completely compatible with the human body and carries no risk of allergic reaction.

Used in over a million treatments in more than 60 countries, Restylane has safely corrected wrinkles and enhanced lip fullness. In the United States, it is used to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as those extending from the sides of the nose to the sides of the mouth (nasolabial). Results vary from individual to individual and usually last six months or longer. Having touch-up treatments before dissipation of the product gives a longer lasting effect.

Jane Iredale--The Skin Care Makeup™

Known as The Skin Care Makeup, the Jane Iredale line is so safe and beneficial to use that it is recommended by Plastic Surgeons and Dermatologists throughout the world.

Jane's line is a highly-sophisticated blend of minerals and pigments that are micro-pulverized, using proprietary technology and processes to form microscopic flat crystals. These crystals overlap each other on the skin to form a filter that allows the skin to breathe and function normally while still protecting it from air-borne pollutants. The staying power of the minerals is so great that they rarely need a touch-up during the day. And because these silky-feeling powders are water resistant, they won't crease or smear even during the most strenuous exercise.

These state-of-the-art minerals are available in so many shades that there's one for every complexion no matter what the ethnicity.
